Promoting Good Study Habits at Kirkwood Community College
The Kirkwood Smart video series is an educational project produced in collaboration with the Kirkwood Library. The series aims to build students' study skills by showcasing the collective knowledge of students, staff, and faculty on campus.

Communicating Academic ExcellenceThis video series acts as a window into the classroom, providing a deep and candid look at the academic experience. Clips from discussions and interviews with faculty and students convey that academics at MHC are challenging, varied, and offer personal and professional rewards.
In an admission interview, a prospective student remarked that after seeing these videos she felt she had, "a good sense of Mount Holyoke." Another student said that my papermaking video is the reason she ultimately chose Mount Holyoke. |

Communicating the Exhilaration of the College ExperienceMy mandate for this series was to capture some of the unique and unplanned moments that make a college education priceless. I committed in the strictest sense to "showing" as opposed to "telling." Viewers never hear a student say something like, "It is exciting to be at Mount Holyoke," yet this is clearly communicated throughout each video. Additional messages include the variety of co-curricular opportunities available to students, the on-campus diversity, and the vibrancy of the student body.

Featuring State-of-the-Art FacilitiesThis video informs viewers that undergraduates at MHC have incredible facilities at their fingertips. They get to work closely with faculty on research projects, and have the great advantage of being able to build and test devices at the same location. It educates viewers about exciting new renewable energy research, it motivates prospective students to perceive Mount Holyoke College as cutting edge, and helps alumnae understand the value of continuing to invest in MHC.
