The 20th Iowa Women's Music Festival will take place at the Johnson County Fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday, September 27th and 28th. When I learned about the event, I definitely wanted to get involved. Giving the website a facelift was a top priority for Festival organizers, so CGV strayed from video production and took on the challenge. Coming onboard late August left only one month to get the new site off the ground before the festival.
When migrating the site's content, clear, intuitive organization was a top priority. I anticipated what people would look for and made sure the site was easily navigable and key information was easily discoverable. I tried to keep design uncluttered, letting images and video clips pop. I would really appreciate feedback on the site, so if you any suggestions, make sure to respond to this blog post!
I wanted the website builder to be intuitive to non-coders, so I looked into both Wix and Weebly. In the end, I went with Weebly because I have built my own site in it, and I really like that I can click and drag components to reorganize a page in moments.
